What are cookies?

Cookies are files which can be downloaded onto your computer through websites.

  • Persistent cookies:

The data is still stored on the computer and can be accessed and treated during a defined period by the responsible of the cookie, and it can go between a few minutes to various years.

Lastly, there is another classification with five types of according to the end in which the data will be used:

  • Technical cookies:

Those which allow the user to navigate through a website, platform or application and use the different options and services that exist on it, such as managing the traffic and communication of data, identifying a session, accessing restricted areas, remembering the elements which compose an order, carry out an order of purchase, make the request of inscription or participation of an event, use security features during browsing, store data for the diffusion of videos or sound or to share contents through social media.

  • Personalization cookies:

They allow the user to access the service with some general characteristics, which are preferred according to a certain criteria in the user´s computer, such as the language, the kind of browser from which the user is navigating, the location from where the user is accessing, etc.

  • Analysis cookies:

They allow their responsible to track and analyze the behaviour of the users on the webs they are linked to. The obtained information from these sorts of cookies is used in the mediation of activity on webs, applications or platforms and to elaborate browsing profiles of the users of those sites, with the objective of introducing new upgrades according to the analysis of data from the users that use the service provided.

  • Advertisement cookies:

They allow the management, in the most efficient way, of the advertising spaces.

  • Cookies of behavioral advertisement:

They store information about the behaviour of the users obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows developing a specific profile to show advertising according to it.

  • External social networks cookies:

They´re used to enable the visitor to interact with the content of different social platforms: (Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc) and only to be generated for the users of those social networks. The conditions of use of these cookies and the compiled information are regulated by the privacy policy of the corresponding social network.

 

Deactivation and elimination of cookies

You have the option to allow, block or eliminate the cookies installed on your computer through the configuration of the browser options. When you deactivate the cookies, some of the services available could become inoperative.
